A quick quote

I just saw a quote on the Youth Ministry Forum that I'd like to share with you. (Quote from ruben Shelly, posted by dougout)

Christians are like manure. Pile it up and it just stinks to high heaven. Spread it around and it fertilizes whole fields.

What do you think about that? :)

  1. The wording is confusing: Christians (plural) vs. Pile It Up (Singular)

I'll assume the author of that quote means that [paraphrased] "Christians are like Manure Turds (pardon the unbiblical term). As a group or a force they stink. Spread them out and they may do some good."

I think it's a little too strong and too idealistic, but if the premise is that Christians should be out in the world rather than gathered together in churches being Christians, I agree.

What really stinks, though, is Christians faking thier "walk" to other Christians. It hurts everyone.

  2. sorry that i haven't visited your blog before, but i was just looking at my past blogs, saw that you had commented, and thought i would at least visit yours.

in perfect honesty, i think the quote is dead on. i mean, if you think about it, our bodies are all manure anyway so why not apply that fact to an accurate portray of how some Christians act?

  3. Yes.
    I'm in complete agreement.
I actually had conversations about that today.
    It was phenomenal.
And both conversations began with televangelists.
